Story:

I was born at Berry on the south east coast of New South Wales, Australia, 1954. I am the second eldest of seven children. I've lived in and around the Shoalhaven district and it's Aboriginal communities all my life.

I've always been interested in arts and crafts and our Aboriginal culture and history.

I decided to join a TAFE course back in 2000. I've since studied and completed the Following courses:

  • Certificate i,ii,iii,iv Aboriginal Art & Cultural Practices West Wollongong TAFE
  • Diploma Visual Arts West Wollongong TAFE
  • Advanced Diploma Visual Arts West Wollongong TAFE
  • Certificate iv Workplace Training and Assessor
I majored in the discipline of weaving, both traditional and contemporary and now teach and share knowledge of my culture. I also work in the mediums of shellwork, drawing and painting.

In 2004, 2005 I won the TAFE prize for academic excellence award and the NSW Illawarra Aboriginal student of the year award.

I've exhibited at Wollongong City Gallery, Parliament House in Sydney, Paris France, and in the local and regional districts.

I have work in three public collections - The Wollongong City Gallery, The Maritime Museum Collection and the Museum of Sydney.
