Artists
There are 9 Founding members who form the original founders of the studio when BNAACS opened in 2005. 7 of these artists/ cultural workers have Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts TAFE and several have Cert IV Workplace Trainer & Assessor qualifications. As practicing artists they have exhibited locally, nationally & internationally. Their individual reputations are building with many artists having artwork in permanent public collections.
BNAACS is growing in the past 12 months we have a regular 35 Associate artists that access the services of the studio. BNAACS has a mentor program that has worked with over 180 Aboriginal artists on the South East coast - as far north as Coffs Harbour and South to Bega. We have also been establishing contacts with artists in remote regional NSW, West Women Weavers Condobolin and Wilcannia. BNAACS in partnership with Boolarng Nangamai Aboriginal Corporation has been part of several cultural exchanges with Yirrkalla, Injalak and Papunya Tjupi.
