Mission statement

Boolarng Nangamai Aboriginal Corporation (BNACorp) endeavors to strengthen & showcase Aboriginal communities by supporting and promoting art and cultural practices on the South Coast of NSW.

BNACorp in partnership with Boolarng Nangamai Aboriginal Art & Culture Studio fosters to generate employment and educational opportunities for Aboriginal people in the areas of the arts - both contemporary & traditional, cultural tourism, landcare and the protection of the environment.

BNACorp is innovative in approach and offers an authentic living cultural experience through hands on learning that promotes our unique region. BNACorp board directors actively work to keep cultural integrity and culture strong for future generations to inherit.

BNACorp strives to share & exchange ideas and traditions across Aboriginal communities in the Illawarra and broader Aboriginal nations.

BNACorp believes that:

* Aboriginal people and their communities are strengthened by active participation in art and cultural practices.

* Aboriginal Elders have much to offer young Aboriginal people and therefore it is important to foster relationships between these groups in the community in order to build resilience in individuals and sustain culture.

* Self determination for Aboriginal people is vital to ensuring Aboriginal people live with equity and justice. In this way, they must be supported to meet their own personal aspirations and determine their own destinies.
